Dear Parents and Carers
I hope you all enjoyed a restful and relaxing Easter break. Please click here for this week's video.
The start of term has been incredibly positive; I have been particularly impressed by our students with upcoming summer exams. They are displaying a fantastic work ethic and a clear determination to make the most of these final weeks before the exam season begins in early May.
Regarding revision for these exams, our mantra is "little and often." While marathon study sessions can lead to exhaustion, establishing a consistent daily habit is vital for students to feel fully prepared and confident. There is a lot of support and guidance available from us here, so please do not hesitate to ask.
I will be speaking to students in assemblies next week regarding conduct within the local community. While the vast majority of our students are excellent ambassadors for our school, there have been a small number of incidents where behaviour has not been acceptable. This includes conduct on the way to and from school, as well as during evenings and weekends.
To be clear, student behaviour in the community is subject to the school’s behaviour policy and sanctions if there is a link between those actions and the good order of the School. Regrettably, I have had to issue significant sanctions recently for incidents occurring outside of school hours. For almost all of our students, this is not a concern, as they are thoughtful of others in our community, and demonstrate respect and politeness. However, I feel it's important to ensure all families are fully aware of this, to inform required conversations about where your child goes after school and at weekend, and who they are with.
Finally, I am delighted to announce that we have raised almost £3,000 for St David’s Hospice in memory of Mrs. Lewis. We will keep the donation page open until the end of Monday, April 20th, before transferring the funds to the charity. I am incredibly grateful to everyone for your overwhelming generosity toward such a worthwhile cause.
In a further tribute, Mrs. Lewis’s form (11CLE) has planted rose bushes at the front of the school. This is a beautiful, lasting reminder of her presence and the profound impact she had on so many within our school community.
